Faces (Series) 

Faces is a series based on imaginative characters in different environments allowing the viewer to create their own story. This series is meant to inspire the viewer by capturing the unique character and personality of each subject. Each character is placed within an environmental setting where the viewer can imagine possible life stories. The process of painting this series has allowed me to focus on the subtle details and nuances that make each character unique. I find it deeply satisfying to capture those qualities on canvas. Additionally, I find this series to be therapeutic and meditative, and I love the way it allows me to express myself creatively. Overall, I just find painting faces to be a deeply enjoyable and rewarding experience. 

Pet Portraits

I absolutely love painting pet portraits because it allows me to capture the unique personality and character of each pet. There is something so special about the bond between a pet and its owner. Being able to honor that bond through art is truly fulfilling. I also love the challenge of accurately portraying the subtle differences in fur patterns, facial expressions, and body posture that make each pet  distinct. Plus, the act of painting is just something restorative - the process of layering brushstrokes and watching a piece come to life on the canvas is truly magical. Painting pet portraits is simply a passion of mine because it combines my love of animals, art, and the opportunity to bring joy to others through my work.

Wood Carving

Wood carving has allowed me to bring my creative visions to life using a traditional and tactile medium. There is something satisfying and fulfilling about shaping a block of wood into a beautiful and intricate piece of art. The process of carving requires patience, attention to detail, and a steady hand. I enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes with mastering these skills. In addition, I love the way it allows me to disconnect from the distractions of daily life and focus on the present moment. Creating wood sculptures is a deeply satisfying and enjoyable experience.

Portraits

Portraits are important to me because it allows me to capture the unique character and personality of the subject. The face is such an expressive and important part of who we are, and I enjoy the challenge of trying to accurately depict it through my art. The process of drawing a portrait requires careful observation and attention to detail, and I find it deeply satisfying to be able to capture the subtle nuances and characteristics of a person's face. Additionally, I find the process of drawing to be therapeutic and relaxing, and I love the way it allows me to disconnect from the distractions of daily life and focus on the present moment. Overall, I just find portrait drawing to be a deeply enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Mixed Media Creative 

There are so many creative mediums that I love to explore beyond painting and carving. Watercolor is a beautiful medium that allows for a delicate and transparent quality in the finished piece. It is especially suited for capturing the subtle gradations and textures of landscapes and still lifes. Charcoal is a versatile medium that can be used to create bold, expressive drawings. It is perfect for capturing the subtle tonal variations of a subject and can be easily erased and refined for a more finished look. Another medium that I enjoy using is pastels.  Pastels are great for creating soft and dreamy effects. The possibilities are endless, and it's always exciting to try out new mediums to create my vision.

Figure

I love figure painting & drawing because it allows me to capture the beauty and complexity of the human form. The human body is a fascinating and endlessly diverse subject, and I enjoy the challenge of trying to accurately depict it through my art. Whether I am painting a portrait or a full-length figure, I find it deeply satisfying to be able to capture the subtle details and nuances that make each person unique. The process of painting the figure requires careful observation and attention to detail, and I find it to be a meditative and rewarding experience. Additionally, I love the way figure painting allows me to express my creativity and share my unique vision with others. Overall, I just find figure painting to be a deeply enjoyable and fulfilling experience.
